ANIM: Accurate Neural Implicit Model for Human Reconstruction from a single RGB-D image

no code implementations15 Mar 2024 Marco Pesavento, Yuanlu Xu, Nikolaos Sarafianos, Robert Maier, Ziyan Wang, Chun-Han Yao, Marco Volino, Edmond Boyer, Adrian Hilton, Tony Tung

In this paper, we explore the benefits of incorporating depth observations in the reconstruction process by introducing ANIM, a novel method that reconstructs arbitrary 3D human shapes from single-view RGB-D images with an unprecedented level of accuracy.

HISR: Hybrid Implicit Surface Representation for Photorealistic 3D Human Reconstruction

no code implementations28 Dec 2023 Angtian Wang, Yuanlu Xu, Nikolaos Sarafianos, Robert Maier, Edmond Boyer, Alan Yuille, Tony Tung

This representation is composed of two surface layers that represent opaque and translucent regions on the clothed human body.

CausalOps -- Towards an Industrial Lifecycle for Causal Probabilistic Graphical Models

no code implementations2 Aug 2023 Robert Maier, Andreas Schlattl, Thomas Guess, Jürgen Mottok

Causal probabilistic graph-based models have gained widespread utility, enabling the modeling of cause-and-effect relationships across diverse domains.

Sparse Surface Constraints for Combining Physics-based Elasticity Simulation and Correspondence-Free Object Reconstruction

1 code implementation4 Oct 2019 Sebastian Weiss, Robert Maier, Rüdiger Westermann, Daniel Cremers, Nils Thuerey

In a number of tests using synthetic datasets and real-world measurements, we analyse the robustness of our approach and the convergence behavior of the numerical optimization scheme.

Multiframe Scene Flow with Piecewise Rigid Motion

no code implementations5 Oct 2017 Vladislav Golyanik, Kihwan Kim, Robert Maier, Matthias Nießner, Didier Stricker, Jan Kautz

We introduce a novel multiframe scene flow approach that jointly optimizes the consistency of the patch appearances and their local rigid motions from RGB-D image sequences.

Efficient Online Surface Correction for Real-time Large-Scale 3D Reconstruction

no code implementations12 Sep 2017 Robert Maier, Raphael Schaller, Daniel Cremers

State-of-the-art methods for large-scale 3D reconstruction from RGB-D sensors usually reduce drift in camera tracking by globally optimizing the estimated camera poses in real-time without simultaneously updating the reconstructed surface on pose changes.
