Two-Person adversarial games are zero-sum: A resolution of the Luce-Raiffa-Aumann (LRA) conjecture

no code implementations6 Mar 2024 M. Ali Khan, Arthur Paul Pedersen, David Schrittesser

This letter: (i) reformulates the theorems of Adler-Daskalakis-Papadimitriou (2009) and Raimondo (2023) on two-player adversarial games as a generalized result with a simplified proof, (ii) forges connections to work on strategically zero-sum games by Moulin-Vial (1978), and on axiomatizations of multi-linear utilities of n-person games by Fishburn-Roberts (1976, 1978).

Separately Convex and Separately Continuous Preferences: On Results of Schmeidler, Shafer, and Bergstrom-Parks-Rader

no code implementations1 Oct 2023 Metin Uyanik, Aniruddha Ghosh, M. Ali Khan

We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a correspondence taking values in a finite-dimensional Euclidean space to be open so as to revisit the pioneering work of Schmeidler (1969), Shafer (1974), Shafer-Sonnenschein (1975) and Bergstrom-Rader-Parks (1976) to answer several questions they and their followers left open.

Continuity Postulates and Solvability Axioms in Economic Theory and in Mathematical Psychology: A Consolidation of the Theory of Individual Choice

no code implementations17 Feb 2022 Aniruddha Ghosh, M. Ali Khan, Metin Uyanik

This paper presents four theorems that connect continuity postulates in mathematical economics to solvability axioms in mathematical psychology, and ranks them under alternative supplementary assumptions.

On Sustainability and Survivability in the Matchbox Two-Sector Model: A Complete Characterization of Optimal Extinction

no code implementations4 Feb 2022 Liuchun Deng, Minako Fujio, M. Ali Khan

We provide a complete characterization of optimal extinction in a two-sector model of economic growth through three results, surprising in both their simplicity and intricacy.

Fuzzy Core Equivalence in Large Economies: A Role for the Infinite-Dimensional Lyapunov Theorem

no code implementations31 Dec 2021 M. Ali Khan, Nobusumi Sagara

We present the equivalence between the fuzzy core and the core under minimal assumptions.

The Continuity Postulate in Economic Theory: A Deconstruction and an Integration

no code implementations26 Aug 2021 Metin Uyanik, M. Ali Khan

This paper presents six theorems and ten propositions that can be read as deconstructing and integrating the continuity postulate under the rubric of pioneering work of Eilenberg, Wold, von Neumann-Morgenstern, Herstein-Milnor and Debreu.
